			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>With all of the advancements in technology over the last 20 years, practicing yoga has become available to many different people at many different places. The internet has allowed for people to get yoga lessons online for very cheap or even free. You can also easily purchase a <a href="http://yogamodel.com/yoga-dvd/"title="Yoga DVD" >yoga dvd</a>, and do all of the yoga that you want in the comfort of your own home. But&#8230;this advancement in technology has taken away from <a href="http://yogamodel.com/benefits-of-studio-yoga/"title="Studio Yoga" >studio</a> yoga, which I must say definitely has its advantages over secluding your yoga experience to yourself in your living room. Yoga studios are great because they allow you to get help from professional yoga instructors who can see and tell you exactly what you might be doing wrong. Also, if you pay for a membership at the yoga studio, you will find yourself feeling obligated to get your moneys worth and you will make sure that you practice yoga regularly which is definitely a good thing. When you practice yoga at home, its all to easy to cut your yoga session short, or worse yet, not even practice it at all. Also if you are someone who wants to lose weight while practicing yoga, a hot yoga studio might be great for you. In my opinion, I do see a place for yoga videos, websites and even new technologies such as the Nintendo Wii Fit which allows you to practice yoga, however, I use things like this as a substitute for me not being able to make it to studio yoga. I still want my main yoga experience to be based out of a studio, and I really hope that the advancement of technology doesn&#8217;t continue to negatively affect the traditional style of practicing yoga with a professional who can help you to improve much quicker because of the one on one instruction that you receive from the yoga studio.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you are someone who loves to play sports and you pride yourself on your ability to excel at any particular sport, you might want to consider giving <a href="http://yogamodel.com/yoga-fitness-spread-the-word/"title="Yoga Fitness" >yoga fitness</a> a try. You might not realize it, but yoga is arguably the single best activity you can do that will help you improve multiple aspects in your body. It allows you to improve strength, agility and flexibility. The benefits to practicing yoga regularly are very significant and if you are an elite or even a professional athlete, yoga could potentially help you take your abilities to that next level that you have been trying to attain for so long. There are actually many professional athletes that realize the value that yoga can bring to their game and they have come out in support of yoga publicly in hopes of showing people that yoga is not merely just a passing fad.</p>
<p>You do not however, have to be a professional or even an elite athlete to see the benefits that yoga can have on your athletic activities. You might just be involved in some recreational activities such as flag football, softball, rec basketball, or even rec hockey. Everyone from children to adults alike will see improvements in their agility almost right away. Yoga can also be great for children who are serious about sports, but who are not yet able to lift weights. Weight lifting can be incredibly unsafe for children and can actually stunt their growth. Yoga however, will allow children to safely improve their strength and flexibility, and it can also help them through that awkward phase that every early teenager goes through. Many children grow so fast that they have a hard time with athletics immediately after their growth spurt, and if they would practice yoga, they would find it a bit easier to participate in sports in their new body.</p>
<p>All in all, yoga can really benefit just about anyone in any situation at just about any age. Its not something that you can participate in every so often and still see the immense improvements it will have on your body and mind, but if you practice regularly just once or twice a week, you will soon see that you have become much healthier in every aspect of your life, whether you are an athlete or not.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you ever wondered exactly what yoga <a href="http://yogamodel.com/yoga-asanas-the-many-postures-of-raja-yoga/"title="Yoga Asanas" >asanas</a> is and/or means? I get this question a lot, and I figured I would write a post about it. Patanji was a compiler of the yoga sutras way back when and at one point he explained that asana is the third limb out of eight within Raja (or classical) yoga. In order these eight limbs are as follows…</p>
<ul>
<li>yamas (restrictions)</li>
<li>niyamas (observances)</li>
<li>asanas (postures)</li>
<li>pranayama (breath work)</li>
<li>Pratyahara (sense withdrawal)</li>
<li>dharana (concentration)</li>
<li>dhyana (meditation)</li>
<li>samadhi (self realization and unity with Brahman, or The Concept of God in Hindu)</li>
</ul>
<p>So as you can tell basically asana yoga is a concentration in yoga that focuses on postures, examples of the subsections of yoga would be hatha yoga asanas or buckram yoga asanas. Many years ago, Patanjali stated that asanas is &#8220;to be seated in a position that is firm, but relaxed&#8221;. Now that yoga has evolved into thousands of postures, or asanas, it no longer necessarily relates to only seated postures. Now yoga asanas could be said to have an unlimited number of asanas because of the broad nature of that term within the context of the present day.</p>
<p>Many practitioners of yoga decide to participate in yoga just to feel better and not to get a history lesson in the topic of yoga. However, many people who are very enthusiastic about yoga really can appreciate the roots of yoga which many of these people classify as a way of life.</p>
